RELEASING
AND ENGAGING THE CREATIVE FORCE IN YOUR WORK LIFE
Most people associate creativity with art more than with business. But as we
enter the new millennium, we all can see that the rapid changes in all of our
lives are requiring innovative skills every day from everyone. Businesses have
to reinvent almost daily how capital, people, markets, and ideas work together
to make a business successful. Furthermore, the pace of the constant changes
in our world today is going to make creativity on the job a crucial characteristic.
This could be a problem if we think, as has been typical in our culture, that creativity is limited to a select few and that they were probably born with that quality. Creativity is, in fact, a teachable skill and the people who make the effort to maintain their creative strengths will be the productive, successful ones in our fast paced future. These creative people will not only be more productive, they will be the people who stay on the job in your organization because they are happier employees.
The goal of the process in Engaging the Creative Force is to help individuals
develop a heightened sense of authenticity and competence in their workplace.
The workshop consists of a series of specific teachings and tasks, exercises
which have been field-tested as well as practices based on state-of-the-art
ideas on creativity, management theory and group dynamics. Some sample exercises
might include: Mentor Magic, Imaginary Lives, Dumping the Albatross, Walking
Your Wisdom, And Watching the Picture Without the Sound. This workshop promises
to be a guided encounter with your own ingenuity, integrating your ideas with
practices such as those suggested in The Artist's Way at Work, by Mark Bryan,
Julia Cameron and Catherine Allen. [back to top]
CONNECTING
YOUR MONEY AND YOUR LIFE
Money is a potent form of energy, the perfect focal point for working out life's
important lessons
from The Energy of Money
The Energy
of Money sessions are designed to guide participants through a dynamic exploration
of personal and financial fulfillment. Based on the text, The Energy of Money by Marie Nemeth, the sessions open the mind and soul to how the energy of money
can empower each of us in reaching the goals and dreams we hope to realize in
our lives. This class promises to assist people in uncovering their hidden beliefs,
patterns and habits surrounding the use of money. The class will also use practical
techniques for managing your life and your work so that you can free the financial
energy you have to use for your personal life goals. Former participants have
said, "this class is beneficial to anyone under any circumstance
"
and "I am filled with gratitude for this course. [back to top]
AWAKENING
TO YOUR CREATIVITY
Vranna Sue Hinck will lead you through inspiring exercises that can help blast
through the creative blocks that stop you. Join her and discover strategies
that will enable you to balance spontaneity and discipline in the creative act-whatever
that is for you.
This class
is for any person struggling with creative "stuckness" in any place
in their lives, not just those people who call themselves artists. The lessons
from the Artist's Way will help you explore ways to use your resources as a
means of living more creatively and imaginatively, with a free spirit and an
expanded vision. The class is at once serious and playful, providing activities
that will resonate in your creative mind with truth, wisdom, and inspiration.
Anyone who would like to live more resourcefully and imaginatively, not just
those desiring to be artists, can benefit from this class. Students from all
walks of life consistently describe this class as "a gift, life-changing,
surprising, and uplifting." [back to top]
MAKING
IT WORK AT WORK: Challenges, Changes and Creative Choices
If you have ever asked questions like:
How can I align my personal and business goals?
How can I clarify and apply my strengths at work?
How can I stay creative in a competitive environment?
Do I need to be a workaholic to be successful?
How do I deal with all the changes I am experiencing
at work and at home?*
this course is for you!
In a class grounded in state of the art ideas on creativity, leadership, innovation
and organizational dynamics, Vranna Sue Hinck promises to give each participant
ideas and tools for developing personal excellence in a rapidly changing world.
She will guide you in an encounter with your own ingenuity, helping you to see
and use skills you may have forgotten you have. The class will be more entertaining
and practical than theoretical. Bring a problem -get it right-sized. Very specific
tools derived from field-tested practice will be presented. We encourage you
to sign up your entire office for this opportunity to become a working team.

RESHAPING THE CORPORATE ENVIRONMENT
In this new millennium, Corporate America is being forced to rethink and reshape the workplace to adjust to the constant changes and pressures placed upon it. Businesses, which consistently challenge their employees at all levels to be creative, will be the most successful.
This workshop is directed at engaging and channeling your employees' creative forces so that your company can operate at its highest possible level of health and productivity. It is based on the concept that your organization is a single entity, dependent on the vitality, enthusiasm, and productive contributions of every member.
The goal of the workshop is to help each individual develop a sense of self-worth, competence, and creative independence, while working toward the goals of the organization. If embraced by all members, the workshop will result in fewer job absences, more productive and efficient employees, and an organization more attractive to potential well-educated job candidates. Employees are the most important assets of any business. Empower them and use their enthusiasm to make productive contributions to your organization. [back to top]

Art Classes: Absolutely no experience necessary for any of the classes listed below.
VERY VERY
BEGINNING SKETCHING: Thing Drawing for Those Who Think They Can't
This class promises to be both fun and productive especially for those people
who are scared to even try to draw. Geared to the complete novice--that's you
if the barn you draw looks like it might fall down any minute or your apple
looks like a flat red circle drawn by a preschooler. The class will be dedicated
to helping you become able to create a reasonable facsimile while you enjoy
the process. In 5 sessions, Vranna Sue will cover such beginning drawing techniques
as how to draw basic forms, how to use simple shapes to create buildings, how
to use shading to suggest depth and how to create distance in a drawing. We
will focus on objects around us and not on the human figure. This instructor
is dedicated to the belief that anyone can take pleasure in drawing and feel
the satisfaction of producing a recognizable image with just a few simple lessons. [back to top]
BEGINNING
DRAWING: The Anatomy of Picture Making
Ever wonder how to communicate strictly through design in a picture? Or how
to create the illusion of space on a flat surface? Or what makes some pictures
seem to arouse you and some seem to soothe you? If you would like to learn how
to arrange the elements in a picture to suite your particular aesthetic or expressive
goals, this class is for you--and any other beginner you know who would like
to learn more about composition. In six sessions with Vranna Sue Hinck, an instructor
known for her playful process, learn to use scale, the illusion of space, volume,
positive and negative space, and much more to create pictures that convey what
you want them to convey. [back to top]
BEGINNING
DRAWING: The Human Body in Six Easy Steps
Vranna Sue will focus on helping you see the human body and its structural features
and proportions first. Then, one at a time, we will study the torso, the arm,
hand, leg and foot. At the end of six sessions, even novices will be able to
produce a satisfying likeness of the human figure. This class promises to be
both fun and productive--especially for those who have never attempted to draw
people before. In six lessons, you should be prepared to join open drawing sessions
with live models. [back to top]
BEGINNING
DRAWING: The Human Face
This class promises to be both fun and productive especially for those who have
never attempted to draw people before. Vranna Sue will focus on helping you
see the human head and its features and proportions first. She will break down
the steps to drawing a human face by teaching you how to draw a satisfying skull,
nose, ear, eye, and mouth so that even a novice will be able to put them together
to produce satisfying likeness of a human face. If you have already taken Vranna
Sue's beginning drawing class, this would be a perfect follow up class to continue
your practice. This instructor loves beginners! [back to top]

"realistic" methods. Discover how you can create simple but beautiful
versions of nature. The class is designed for those who have never tried painting
or who have limited themselves to copying. You can expect to produce satisfying
paintings right away, even if you are a rank beginner. [back to top]
BEGINNING
WATER PAINTING: Fruit and Flowers

backgrounds that are lively, quiet, smooth or textured. Imagine taking pleasure

THE TAO
OF WATER PAINTING
will focus on bringing together the joy of spontaneous expression and the careful,
necessary decision-making that creates a beautiful painting. We will use the
concepts of centering, balance, deliberateness, playfulness and flow as they
are described in Jeanne Carbonetti's book, The Tao of Watercolor to explore
unusual ways of working with watercolor and/or acrylic paint. The 5-session
class is designed for those who have been afraid to try painting or who have
limited themselves to "realistic" painting and would like to expand
their possibilities. [back to top]
PAINTING
WITH LIGHT
Attune to your intuition while you learn basic color concepts and how to create
tints, tones and shades from a simple color wheel. Use your imagination to create
a design painting based on a more complex color wheel. In a final project, visualize
a peaceful planet and use your insight and what you have learned in the first
4 sessions to create a full-scale painting. [back to top]
BEYOND THE
PENCIL: Drawing with Marker, Ink, Pastel, Paint, and Delight.
Start with a scribble and learn how to bring together the joy of spontaneous
expression with the skills that will help you create really original work that
you can be proud of. This class will show you how volume and value are created
through shading, how proportion and pattern creates rhythm in a work, how to
find the balance between the abstract and the real, and how to use mood and
imagination to create a composition that works. A variety of mediums (many of
which the instructor will provide) will be explored including pencil, acrylic
paint, and sumi-e ink. This 6 session class is designed for those who want to
freely express themselves in a spirit and style all their own. [back to top]
VISUAL JOURNALING
Embellish your journal writing and expand your creative instincts as you create
the beautiful page in your personal/travel/hiking journal. In this unusual class,
participants will explore how to use pen and pencil to create texture, how to
use basic shapes to draw almost anything, and how to use negative space. This
6-session class will include materials exploration, creating textures and lettering,
using basic shapes to create objects, seismograph drawings, adding color with
paint and watercolor crayons, and collage. Make your journal a lively composite

and color. We will start with the most simple materials--just you and the pen
and paper. [back to top]

THE GRATEFUL HEART: A Themed Approach to Visual Journaling
Experience then express. Join others in novel exercises that will wake you up
to unique experiences of gratitude. Then create a Gratitude Journal with pencil,
paint, pen, poetry, prose, praise and pictures. A variety of techniques for
creating beautiful pages will be presented and, because the journal is a private
place, you can be free of having to please anyone but yourself. Play with pouring
paint, stamping patterns, painting with a sponge to name a few. Use pens, pencils,
colored pencils, watercolor crayons, paint, ink and more. Learn a variety of
layout designs for your page. Let go of having to produce or be critiqued and
create for the sheer joy of creating. Enjoy the process! An assortment of materials
will be made available so that participants can enjoy experimenting without
having to "buy before they try." No prior know-how necessary!! We
will start with simple materials--just you and your journal and the present
moment. [back to top]

mesh can be the means to creating wonderful stamps and stencils. We will work
with linoleum block as well and this class will also show you how to integrate
the patterns you create into your art. In addition, we will learn how to transfer
images directly onto a card, or your painting or journal page or scrapbook.

to draw them! Some materials provided. [back to top]
